DC's Fashion’s Night Out: Guide to metro area participating boutiques

For weeks now, I’ve been writing about Fashion’s Night Out – the brainchild of Vogue’s Anna Wintour aimed to breathe new life into the struggling retail and fashion industry. Thursday, September 10, 2009, cities across the nation and countries across the globe will be participating in Fashion’s Night Out by hosting in-store events and extending store hours.

 

Retailers and designers throughout the Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and surrounding metropolitan areas are also participating in this momentous event – encouraging support for local businesses and regional designers.

Here is a list of local  participating retailers and their Fashion’s Night Out offerings:

Time: 8pm – 11pm
What: Special discounts for the evening up to 50% off. Shoppers can enjoy wine and shoppers and enter to win a $50 gift card.

Time:  7pm – 11pm
What:  Lettie Gooch is breaking out the "star treatment" as shoppers can dance the night away with sounds by DJ Munch starting at 7pm. Snack on light refreshments and cocktails fit for a diva and stick around for evening long giveaways.
 
Lettie Gooch features designers such as Beth Bowley, SkunkFunk, Orion London, Gigi Florence, Recession Denim and more.
 
Style consultant, Katherine Limon, of My Signature Look, will be on hand to help shopprs explore, accessorize and accentuate their style with all the fashions Lettie Gooch has to offer !

Time: 7pm – 11pm
What: Come out for all the fantastic new fall arrivals from Kaylee Tankus, Covet, Gentle Fawn, Apolis Activism, and store newcomer Kai-aakmann.

What: Will be offering champagne and a gift with purchase.

Neiman Marcus
Where: Chevy Chase and Tyson's Corner Mall
What: Will feature designer appearances, trunk shows, and special events. Neiman Marcus will also sell the official Fashion's Night Out shirt for $30 and 40% of proceeds will benefit the September 11 Memorial and Museum.

Time: 6pm – 11pm
What: In addition to a Jimmy Choo trunk show and a Lily Pulitzer 50 year retrospective, the Mall will host an on-site display of dresses worn by fashion legends Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly and Vivian Leigh, a silent auction, makeoversand musical entertainment in the various courts throughout the Mall – and of course deep discounts throughout.
 
Shoppers will get a peek at hot fall fashions worn by roving models and taste delicious treats from fabulous restaurants. Neiman Marcus will kick off their Beauty Event with on-site spa demos you can do at home and a Tokyo Eyelash Bar, where you can try false. They'll also unveil five sultry new fragrances available exclusively through their stores. At Lilly Pulitzer, eye the vintage Lilly dresses on display (including the original shift that started it all) and meet the head designers to get the lowdown on inspiration for fall '09, all while sampling beer, wine and delicious food.
 
If you’re in the Philadelphia metro area Thursday night, King of Prussia Mall is the place to be!
