Clay Aiken has always sort of mystified me. I never understood why he hid his sexuality (ok, that's not true, I understood, but I just wanted him to be loud and proud and get down with his bad self, no matter what sexuality that bad self might be). I didn't really understand why he was famous, and to be honest, I found his single quite disturbing. I mean, come on. If he was invisible, then he would just watch me in my room?
No thanks, Clay! That's probably about a 11.5 out of 10 on the creep-o-meter. Thankfully, Clay's kind of blended into the background lately, with the exception of the August 8th birth of his son Parker via surrogate. Clay graced the cover of People Magazine this summer with a giant headline that exclaimed, "I'm a gay dad!"
NO. WAY. CLAY, I HAD NO IDEA. Seriously though, I'm so happy for Clay, and so happy that People put him on the cover and that he seems to be doing well overall. The guy's starring in Spamalot, which is quite possibly the funniest musical ever, and now he has a bouncing baby boy to put a little spark into his life. I guess he's invisible no longer!
Here Clay is at famous NYC spot Sardi's, next to his very own caricature. He's officially made it! Sardi's is known for its star sketches. It's pretty much a C-list equivalent of getting your star in Hollywood. Way to go, Clay!
