“There are a lot of smart people out there who are more intelligent than I am,” he says.

Nonetheless, people seem to want to know what he thinks.

“I write commentary for Vanity Fair because it inflames the right people,” he told me. He also writes occasional dispatches and radio bits on his website, and is a regular contributor to the aforementioned Huffington Post
