Remember the days when you could hit your snooze button, take a long shower and pick out just the right outfit that showed you took time to check yourself in the mirror before heading out the door.

Yeah, well neither do I. Children have a way of obliterating all memories of a former life. But somewhere back in the recesses of my brain, I have glimpses of my past where I was able to wear more than just t-shirts and jeans or even my pajamas before heading out the door to the carpool drop-off line.

Then along came LillaP. LillaP? Yes. LillaP - the brainstorm of Charleston born designer Pauline Sokol Nakios, a woman whose clothing line is as much a reflection of her as it is her great sense of style and joie de vivre. Her complete clothing line, from her comfy tees to her pretty, easy flowing dresses, are as easy to wear as they are fashionable. But the best part is, they’re effortless.

 Pima Jersey Surplice

No longer do you have to guess which t-shirt is yours out of the laundry pile because there’s no way you’ll be confusing your daughter’s chocolate stained shirt with this season’s chocolate-colored, pima jersey, long-sleeved surplice tee. This grown-up tee is so comfortable, you’ll be able to wear it from the playground to the late-afternoon teacher’s conference, all in one day. And if you’re lucky enough to keep that baby sitter for after the conference, you can even wear it to that nice little bistro you and your husband love to go to on your night’s out alone.

“Lilla P is known for easy, comfortable clothing,” says LillaP founder, Pauline Nakios who named the clothing line after her grandmother. “As a mom myself, I can tell you that I wore my tops through my pregnancy and after. Some styles are more forgiving  which are today's style but also happen to double as maternity/post-maternity wear.”

Nakios designs her clothing line for today’s eclectic, modern woman. In other words, the fashionable woman from New York's Upper East Side, who keeps up to date with the season’s latest colors, lines and textures will look and feel just as good as the Upper West Side woman who buys the same tees and dresses for the sense of individuality and comfort.

“We will never be the trendy line,” says Nakios. “We appeal to both the fashion-oriented and classic customers. Both are looking for quality clothing with ‘go anywhere, always-appropriate’ styling.”

That’s apparent in the Origami wrap, the signature item which helped to put LillaP on the fashion map. This is a garment, within a garment, within a garment. It’s so versatile, it has it’s own YouTube link showing how many different ways this item can be worn.

In featherweight Pima cotton, the Origami Wrap is the perfect piece for travel, running errands or nights out on the town when the weather is as unpredictable as your plans. Pair this lightweight top with a contrasting colored tee or tank top and you’ll see why people will be asking you where to get one of their own. As Nakios says, “One garment, infinite outfits.”

Personally, I can't tell you how many times I've given the Origami Wrap as a gift and had people tell me over and over again how much they love the wrap for its versatility.

So, maybe as busy moms it'll be while before we can get back to the days of crawling out of bed, enjoying a cup of coffee, reading the paper, then heading out the door looking like a we had time to try our best. But with the help of a great tee or dress from LillaP, at least we can have our children look at us like we're the best looking mom in the carpool pickup line! Who knows, maybe they'll even want us sticking around to go shopping with them, too.
