T.E.A. Party in Thousand Oaks Highlights Ayn Rand
Holding a copy of Ayn Rand’s 1168 page epic novel Atlas Shrugged over his head, Dr. Stuart Fischbein addressed those who attended the Thousand Oaks T.E.A. (We’re Taxed Enough Already) Party on Saturday afternoon. The event was organized by Carolyn Guillot, Region 24 Coordinator of the Campaign for Liberty and was held at the corner of Hillcrest and Janss road in Thousand Oaks, the same corner where a similar protest ended in a “pinky biting” confrontation a little over a week ago.
Although the police were standing by, the estimated crowd of 150 remained civil while many drivers honked their horns in support as they drove by the display of several American flags and protest signs.
Dr. Stuart received loud cheers when he read a quote from the novel: “Doctors are not servants of their patients, they are traders like everyone else in a free society and they should bear that title proudly considering the crucial importance of the services”
Although small in number, those in attendance represented a wide range of political affiliations; from Libertarian to Independent, and ranged in age from seven to seventy. A member of the John Birch Society handed out copies of their magazine; The New American”.
The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
