We've heard for weeks how in 21 months, Barack Obama has dumped the political establishment on its head. He bypassed the traditional moneyed tea parties, opting instead for direct online donations in smaller amounts.

Much has been made about his ground game which found its organizational backbone in My.BarackObama.com, Facebook, Twitter and other online technology tools. This unprecedented groundswell resulted in the creation of an online community that was able to make real world change.

So the next logical question is, where does this lead?

According to organizers at My.BarackObama.com, there is much more.

In the coming days and weeks, there will be a great deal more information about where this community will head. For the moment, let's celebrate this victory and know that the community we've built together is just the beginning.

What are the possiblities that could emerge from a connected White House interacting with local constituents?

  • Direct action campaigns - How neat would it be to be in a chat with a sitting president?
  • Direct organization - Similar to his famous conference calls, would he extend this organization to orginized citizenry?
  • Grassroots participation - Given his tendancy to organize from the grass roots, would this be one of the tools he uses to get Americans involved in making the "Change" that has been ushered in?

The possiblities are endless, but the anticipation for what comes next is electric.
