Maclaren recalls one million strollers

A massive recall by Maclaren, a giant in the baby stroller industry, is set to be announced tomorrow, Tuesday November 10, 2009. Maclaren is recalling all of their strollers produced between 1999 and 2009. The reason for this record-breaking recall is twelve reports of hinges on the stroller amputating children's fingers.

What can parents do today before the actual recall is announced?

  1. Immediately stop using any Maclaren stroller manufactured since 1999.
  2. Once MacCaren issues their official recall statement on Tuesday November 10th, put in a request for the necessary repair kit.
  3. Do not resume using the stroller until necessary repairs have been made.

Parents have been advised to immediately stop using Maclaren strollers. The Maclaren website will be providing a hinge cover set and a help hotline will be open starting tomorrow. Because the recall is not slated to be announced until tomorrow, specific details are still being determined.
