If you use Facebook or Myspace, you have probably seen a wide array of pet related topics incorporated into the popular social networking sites. It’s not surprising that new sites have risen from the demand of pet lovers wanting a place of their own on the world wide web.

No matter what your pet passion is, if you want to chat or blog about your furry baby, ask other pet owners about training, health, behaviors, etc. there are dozens of free networking sites on the Internet aimed specifically toward animal lovers.

I have compiled a list of twenty social networking sites for pet owners. From dating sites to blogging and vet advice, there is sure to be one to meet your interest.
 

• Animalattraction.com  Social networking. Register for free and pick a pet charity. Every time you log in, the site donates more to the animal charities. So far, over $30,000 has been raised!
• Catster.com  Blogs, forums, advice, answers, breed information, adoption and more.
• Cuteashell.com  Pet photo contests, voting, shopping, community, pet services.
• Datemypet.com  Online dating service for pet owners. Free basic membership.
• Doggyspace.com  Social groups, lots of dog videos.
• Dogster.com  Dog Q & A, vet advice, adoption, dog breed information, dog owner’s manual.
• FetchaFriend.com Connect with other dog lovers, arrange play dates, ask questions and more.
• Hamsterster.com  Upload photos, browse, learn, shop, have fun (gerbils are allowed too!)
• Leashesandlovers.com A place to meet other singles who share your animal interests. (See comment, below)
• Mydogspace.com “Because a dog deserves a My Space too."
• Petboogaloo.com  “Where pets unite for fun and to make a difference”.
• Petbrags.com  “Where all pets deserve a webpage”.
• Petcrash.com Free classified ads, send pet e-cards, network, store pet pics and videos, blog.
• Petdoc.com  “America’s most trusted authority on pet care. Customize your page, meet other pet owners and post questions.”
• Petloversparadise.com  A warm and inviting pet loving, social community
• Petspassions.com  A link I received through the comment box below- a great site for those who love pets and want to meet other singles!
• Petpop.com Create a profile for your pet, make new friends, share stories and videos, find local pet businesses, parks and sitters, montly contests and resources.
• Petside.com  “Join the community, find a pet hospital, diagnose a condition, find a breed."
• Petsmooch.com  “We bring together pets, pet owners and people who have a passion for pets."
• Petster.com  Upload photos & videos, blog, meet new friends, network, join a pet club.
• Wuffstuff.com  “The social network and ultimate resource for dog owners”.
