
A year ago, the average person had probably never heard of Twitter. Now? Celebrities, politicians and everyday people have embraced it in their daily lives. Upon first signing up, most are confused by the point of the site. For some, it's viewed as Facebook minus everything but the status updates. However, it is so much more! People have been using it for years to network, ask advice, gain knowledge and thensome. Twitter is taking the world by storm and the simplistic site is serving much purpose. The site serves as a direct connection with those you may not be able to connect with otherwise. It takes out the middleman and enables "big-timers" to connect with "small-timers" and allows people's voices to be heard. More recently, actress Demi Moore and her husband Ashton Kutcher have been extremely active on the site and claim that they can avoid having paparazzi tell distorted tales by directly communicating with the public themselves. If you're really lucky, they'll reply if you've said something to them that has caught their eye.
