That's President Khaled to you! Photo

I would like to know what is going on at Def Jam these days; on the topic, I would also like to know what is going on with record labels in general. MTV reported that DJ Khaled is now Def Jam South's new President.

The last time I checked, DJ Khaled was on the scene for a short amount of time and most importantly has not put out hits worthy of saying the he's the best, pun intended. Besides the fact that he likes to put numerous people on one track which isn't unusual since he claims to be a DJ, but the fact that he enjoy's screaming on a track and announcing his presence makes him a modern day Diddy and we can only have one of those, trust me.

At any rate, L.A. Reid has made the decision to make Khaled the President and what a surprising blessing that is. This is what Khaled had to say about his new position,

This is what I've always wanted to do, is be an executive and take it to another level. L.A. [Reid] just hit me one day. He was like, 'We should bring Khaled onboard. He makes hits, he has relationships.' I got a team of producers and we go in hard. My job is to bring hits to the table and work with new artists and work with established artists. I'm bringing new energy to the game and to the building...At Def Jam, we promote music. We promote hit records. That's what I respect. I'm always going to represent the music; Rick Ross is gonna represent the music. If controversy comes with it, it comes with it. And boy, 'Magnificent' — Rick Ross featuring John Legend, that's Ricky Ross' first single — it's a monster. It's gonna be on and poppin'.

Albums from Ludacris, Young Jeezy and his very own Rick Ross will be under Khaled's watchful eye.

Don't expect Khaled to be President and beef buddy with Rick Ross against 50 Cent, he has decided to be above the "negativity" and put all of his attention toward his new position at Def Jam.

Congratulations to DJ Khaled on his new position. Do you think he will do Def Jam proud or is this another position that will be vacant in 2 years? Speak on it.
