President Hugo Chavez has apparently decided that Venezuela has too many fat people and is calling for dietary changes. He was quick to offer suggestions such as sit ups, eating rice pasta rather than spaghetti and drinking soy milk, according to www.drudgereport.com. However, whether the move remains voluntary or not remains to be seen.
Interestingly, the original House healthcare bill (HR3200) indicated that a type of nutrition counsel would be set up to assist Americans with their eating habits.
Last week, Chavez claimed that there is a water shortage and that he plans to ration the water supply. It apparently hasn’t been explained to him that people have a better chance at staying healthy and physically fit when they are getting enough water in their diet.
Electricity is also being reported as an area of shortage, and so it is now being regulated by the government. But the media is being regulated by the government to ensure that Chavez’s policies don’t get bashed publically.
