DME + MTV = VMA slideshow fun

MTV...VMA...DME? Being the Digital Music Examiner means looking for free, legal downloads, or interesting music streams or digital-only releases - usually.
But even if the musical tastes of this column tend to run toward smart, sensitive songwriting that puts the emphasis on the song itself and doesn't translate well into big budget pop videos (and let's face it, even MTV doesn't care much about playing music videos anymore), the DME - and its readers? - are not immune to the joys of audio-video extravanganzas.
Consider it a crash course on some of the celebutantes and hot young men that the kids are going (Lady) Gaga over. And just to keep it DME-worthy, throughout the VMAs, commercials kept telling us we could get exclusive musical content from the likes of Green Day and Taylor Swift at rhapsody.com, so there.
