This morning, the wind will cut right through your coat. It is about as cold as yesterday, but the wind is stronger. Morning temperatures averaged in the teens, and winds from the NW range from 10-25mph. That calculates to wind chills in the single digits. Above and below zero!

This morning's weather map shows the departing storm well off the east coast. That storm (that just missed us yesterday), brought a record 3.5" of snow to Raleigh, NC. Their suburbs got up to 6 inches, and 3 days off of school! While Monday's snow gave us an average of 1.5 inches, BWI still has not had their first 1inch of the season. More snow so far this winter for New Orleans, Houston.
High Pressure along the gulf coast will dominate our weather for the rest of the week. The transition and tight pressure gradient between both storms is the reason for the strong winds today. Some left over snow on the ground will continue to diminish, but steal some of the energy that the sun will give us. By tomorrow, most of that snow will be gone. That high pressure will shift to our south over the next few days, and allow the wind to shift to the south west. As a result, temperatures will warm up dramatically. By Friday, many areas in central Maryland will be near 50F. It should not last long, as another shot of cold air will return with the 30s over the weekend.
