I was a little concerned as I woke up this morning, and only saw a light coating of snow outside my house, however, some cars with Maryland tags at the gym had up to 1 inch on it. A few reports from Manchester, and Jarretsville confirmed it. I could use your reprots to find out how the beltway did, but a band between Hunt Valley and Shrewsbury made out... with less farther north, and more ice to the south.
Winter officially began this morning, and for many of you it has been a big dissappointment. A waste of cold air. So far this storm did what was expected, except for maybe just a little more snow this morning. Now I am on the hook for the wrap around. This will not be classic wrap around the surface low, since we got dry slotted between systems, and the surface kicks NY and New England again in the rear. But the upper level energy that will usher in the arctic air still has life. Below in the slide show are the upper level maps from the NGM model showing support for at least snow showers or a burst of snow tonight.
