With spring right around the corner, Beverly Hills-born sisters Judi and Shari Zucker (www.doubleenergytwins.com) want to help your energy levels skyrocket. They've developed The Double Energy Diet (www.bookpubco.com) based on creating an "optimal energy eating pattern" in your life.
Their LML Plan (a light breakfast, moderate lunch and light dinner) in conjunction with exercise can help you lose weight, eliminate fatigue and feel rejuvenated overall. Over 70 easy to prepare recipes are included, taking advantage of whole food ingredients and items in season at your local farmer's market. Nutty non-meat loaf, Seaside Shell Salad, great granola and Satisfying Stuffed Bell Peppers are among the many recipes guaranteed to double your energy level.
Explain Judi and Shari, both Southern California residents and honor graduates of the University of California Santa Barbara: "The Double Energy Diet proposes a way of eating that is economical for you and for the world. Grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables cost very little compared to meats and less energy is required to get them from the field to your table."
Among their many tantalizing recipes are those for homemade dressings, perfect for a light spring salad or drizzled over steamed asparagus:
Lemon Vinaigrette
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil, 3 to 4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, 2 garlic cloves, minced, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (optional)
Process all the ingredients in a blender or place in a medium bowl and whisk until combined. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
Until our next food find...may all your food finds be fabulous!
