Meet Pabst, the newly crowned winner of the World’s Ugliest Dog competition. The boxer mix was a first time entrant in Friday’s contest, competing against many other likely candidates such as Mojo, an extra wrinkly Shar Pei; and returning champion Rascal, a Chinese Crested.
Pabst’s goblin-like underbite and sweet personality were the perfect combination to win the judges over. He and his owner, Miles Egstad, will be taking home $2,600 and prizes for sweeping all three rounds of the competition.
This lucky mutt definitely qualifies for the so-ugly-he’s-cute category. There is some speculation about how the pup will use his winnings. One fan reported that Pabst is “looking into braces”. We hope not!
The 21st annual World’s Ugliest Dog contest was held at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Northern California on June 26, 2009.
