The Brewers Guild of Indiana and World Class Beverages is presenting the 14th Annual Indiana Microbrewers Festival on Saturday, July 18th, 2009 (from 3:00 to 7:00 pm EDT).
The Festival will take place at Opti Park (820 E. 66th St., just east of College Ave.) in the Broad Ripple neighborhood of Indianapolis.
There will be 26 breweries from the state of Indiana, plus another 18 from out of state; a total of more than 250 beers will be available for unlimited sampling. Also included in the admission price is a commemorative tasting glass, a 16-page festival program. This is also a great opportunity to meet the brewers of these great beers.
Admission is $30 in advance, $33.46 online (including online fee) and $35 at the gate –if the festival is not sold out. Only 4200 tickets have been printed; when they are gone, no one else will be admitted. Call 317-856-6092 for more information.
In addition to live bands, door prizes and games, beer-specific activities include a Firkin Table that will be serving 16 cask conditioned ales on gravity pump, samplings of BGI members’ ReplicAle (this year’s version is a German Altbier) and “Hopapalooza”, which is a gathering of 26 IPAs on tap.
Preceding the Festival is a VIP Brewmaster’s Dinner at Opti Park (Friday, July 17th, 6:00 – 9:00 pm). This is an opportunity to experience a 5-course, sit-down dinner under the tents. Each course pairs an area chef with one brewer. There will be special beers on tap from many breweries - some exclusive to this event. Admission to this exclusive event is $40 which includes beer, dinner and live music (does not include Saturday's Festival). Purchase tickets only at Broad Ripple Brewpub or Brugge Brasserie.
