This app review is part of a five-part series. To start at the beginning, feel free to read the first article, Keep the fireworks going after the 4th!
As with most apps, you never really know what you're going to get when you download them.
Fireworks Show had good intentions, I think, but other than that, it's a total dud. It is the first release of the app, but that's no excuse for the bad sound effects, blurry firework graphics, and preset firework shows that bring on a huge yawn of boredom.
The user interface is also very strange. If you tap too much while making your own fireworks show, it kicks back to the main menu screen, which can be mildly annoying when you're trying to light up the iPod sky with your pretty displays. The menu options are also very strange, very bland, nothing too exciting there. The firework graphics are blurry, the sounds are no better than what my old Atari used to spit out, and there are numerous glitches when you're tapping and making your own firework display. Not to mention the lack of excitement in the preset firework displays already included (you can get there from the menu screen).
Fireworks Show is definitely lacking. I understand it's free, but there are better free firework apps out there that are a much better BANG for your BUCK!

• It's free. Thank God. | |
| • Clunky user interface and menu options • Graphics and sound are way too basic • Preset firework displays are kind of lame... |
