This is how Best Buy sees their customers.

The most unreported fact in the news over the last 6 months is that the economic disaster in which we find ourselves is a result of the Bush Presidency. It seems obvious to me, but apparently not obvious enough for the mainstream media to even touch.

I’ve long complained about a profit-over-people culture in this country that causes businesses to see their customers for suckers or even prey. In this culture schemes against consumers become part of standard business model and even, sometimes brazenly, official company policy. Here’s an instance of the later:

What is the first thing we do when a customer comes in to our humble box brandishing a competitor’s ad asking for a price match? We attempt to build a case against the price match," reads an internal company memo

Here’s an excellent overview of the case against Best Buy and their price-matching scam:

Lawsuit: Best Buy has "anti-price matching policy"

It’s also an example of the tycoonism where middle-managers, eager to please higher-ups and acting as a team, implement crooked policies.

Clearly, I hope Best Buy gets hammered in this suit. This kind of behavior needs to be punished and act as an example to other retailers who, too, hope to run these kinds of scams on consumers… I mean [ahem] their CUSTOMERS.
