By all appearances, the 2009 Presidents Cup seemed to be filled with good sportsmanship between the United States and International teams.

The U.S. was able to retain the Cup by defeating the Internationals by a score of 19 1/2 to 14 1/2. Robert Allenby, Australian player and long-time PGA tour veteran, couldn't hold his tongue however, when speaking about his singles match play opponent Anthony Kim, who beat him in a decisive manner of 5 and 3.
Allenby, while speaking with Golfweek.com, said that Kim arrived back to the players hotel "sideways" at 4 am the night before their match. He went on to say "Maybe we should all take the theory of Anthony Kim. Get home at 4 o’clock in the morning and then go shoot 6 under."
He also said he didn't care if his comments were reported and added, "Ask his playing partners. Ask his team. He is the loosest cannon in that team." He went on to add that Kim is the " new John Daly" of the tour.
Kim is a rising star on the PGA tour with two wins under his belt already. He his now played integral roles on the 2008 winning Ryder Cup team as well as this years winning Presidents Cup team, where he had a 3-1 record.
He has been known to party pretty hard even during tournament weeks. He has also acknowledged in the past trying to cut down on his partying and alchohol intake after witnessing first hand how hard Tiger Woods works at his game.
It is unknown as to why Allenby decided to bring this up or if he has any personal agenda against Kim. Most likely, he was just bitter about getting drubbed 5 and 3 by the American.
