Seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong said he was ready for a comeback.
Today, however, Spanish rider Luis Leon Sanchez was the victor in stage 8 of the Tour de France.
Can Armstrong still pull ahead?
"I think so. I feel good," Armstrong said. "Not sure exactly what to expect, but I'm optimistic," he told reporters before the competition began.
Still, no one is counting Lance Armstrong out.
After Stage 8, Armstrong remains in third place overall.
