The genres of MMORPGs are branching out. They are no longer all just medieval fantasy themed. One genre that has not yet been explored is the vampire/werewolf feud. What license that explores this world will be made into an MMORPG? Buffy? True Blood? Underworld?

Or… Twilight. BrainJunk Studios announced it will develop a Twilight MMORPG. It is very preliminary at this time. The idea is to let players explore the town of Forks, Washington, in an open, non-linear world. This will bring together humans (Bella), vampires (Edward), and werewolves (Jacob).

However, the creator of BrainJunk, and the person behind Twilight: The Video Game, is Brandon Gardner. He is a student of game design at Westwood College Online. He works with a staff of volunteers. While he may have intentions of creating this game, it does not sound like he has a company big enough to obtain the rights to the Twilight intellectual property.

However, there is still hope for World of Darkness. CCP and White Wolf Publishing, who merged back in 2006, are working on an MMORPG. World of Darkness is a table-top RPG that is a combined world of various RPGs like Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Mage: The Ascension, and others. Work has begun at CCP’s studio in Georgia. Release date won’t be until 2013 or 2014.
