Demi Moore doesn't understand how she became the poster child for cougars (the pop-culture term used for older women who date younger men).
“I’m certainly not the first person to be in a relationship with a younger man, but somehow I was plucked out as a bit of a poster girl,” Moore says in the Dec. issue of W magazine. "I don’t know why that is. I’d prefer to be called a Puma.”
Moore, 47, who has been married to Ashton Kutcher, 31, since 2005, looks fit and fabulous despite juggling a busy career and hectic family life.
Demi recently made headlines when she denied having had any plastic surgery to enhance her good looks. Over the years, rumors have swirled that Moore had undergone almost $500,000 in cosmetic surgeries, from a facelift to breast augmentation to liposuction to a kneecap lift.
"[The plastic surgery rumors are] completely false," Demi said. "I've never had it done. I don't like the idea of having an operation to hold up the aging process. The scalpel won't make you happy."
Despite looking superfit and far younger than her years, Moore says her advancing age has hurt her career. “The frustrating part is that the type of roles I’d be interested in are not really coming to me," she says. "I hate to say it’s a function of my age—but yes, I think in some ways it is. The majority of [female] roles are geared between [women ages] 25 and 35.”
Meanwhile, Demi stays in shape by doing Pilates, yoga, and working out to P90X DVDs, a butt-busting home-fitness regimen that features cardio, strength-training and yoga programs. In addition, Moore follows an organic diet and practices portion control.
