"Steve McNair: Killed by 2nd Amendment?" asks the WorldNetDaily headline.
After former NFL and Super Bowl quarterback Steve McNair was found shot dead yesterday, the police said he was a victim of murder, but one well-known sports writer claims the athlete was a victim, instead, of the "American gun culture."
News editor Drew Zahn looks at a ridiculous blame apportionment tirade by sports writer Mike Lupica.
He also gets the reaction to Lupica's finger-pointing from some gun rights advocates, including yours truly.
Go. Read.
I never have understood this country's fixation with bread and circuses. Still, that a media elite--one who has made a career out of getting his countrymen to focus on, face it, trivia--would disparage the means for preserving "our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor" does not surprise me.
Have another beer, America, while others take the hits. Yeah, that hot girl in the shaving cream commercial: she's caressing his face, but she's looking at you...
Meanwhile, the Republic is crumbling around you.

Kwan gun charge dismissal story slow to gain traction
Last Thursday I told Gun Rights Examiner readers about the government dropping a gun charge against Albert Kwok-Leung Kwan, a man they have been attempting to convict for years. Two things bothered me in the aftermath of posting this information:
1. The lack of interest exhibited by the "gun activist" community, particularly since, at any time, many of us could be caught up in the net of over-zealous law enforcement seeking to exploit technicalities. Chatter, forum posts, blogging, and even a mention to their members by national "gun rights groups" has been, for the most part, nonexistent (although I am aware of one ongoing investigation I hope to be able to share with you soon). And
2. Follow-up by the "Authorized Journalists" at The Seattle Times. After all, their previous reporting certainly would not lead an objective reader to presume Kwan's innocence.
I did what I could from my blog, The War on Guns, to cajole readers into spreading the word of the sword being removed from over Kwan's head. And I both contacted the Times and urged readers to do so as well, asking the question:
Now that the charge against him as been dismissed, where is the coverage?
Perhaps it is conceit to think these efforts played any part, but they have finally published a story informing their readers:
Feds drop charge against Bellevue gun dealer
I'm going to continue operating under the assumption that if we want this news to become known in the gun owner community, those who believe it is important will need to be the ones who spread it.
