And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?--Matthew 7:3, King James Bible
There's been a prison break in Mexico:
An armed gang freed more than 50 inmates from a prison in central Mexico on Saturday — including two dozen with ties to a powerful drug cartel — in a daring raid that took just five minutes, a state governor said.
Everyone who worked at the prison, from the top down, is suspect, or at least "detained for questioning."
Why?
"It's clear to us that it was a perfectly planned operation with inside help because it lasted just five minutes and not one shot was fired"...
Corruption among police and other government officials has been a key obstacle in Mexico's U.S.-backed efforts to root out ruthless drug cartels.
Which explains why the 90% of Mexican "crime guns" lie disappears under oath. It why the answer to Mexican drug cartel crime is not more U.S. gun bans. And why any suggestion otherwise is a contrived dog and pony show.
Like the one Calderon staged with Barack Obama (who confirms he hasn't given up on the goal of banning semi-autos, merely adjusted his timing):
"From the moment the the prohibition on the sale of assault weapons was lifted a few years ago, we have seen an increase in the power of organized crime in Mexico," Calderón said.
Yeah, that must be the reason. Because if it's not, why that would mean we're being lied to.
And if we can't trust the Mexican government or the Obama administration, who can we trust?
