ABC Network:Diane Sawyer interviews Rihanna on November 5th
Rihanna is pulling a Whitney! After keeping quiet for months, the singer is going to talk about Chris Brown on ABC’s Good Morning America! The Thursday November 5th interview will be aired in two segments, including a second part on Friday the 6th. Not enough Riri for you? Well, tune in to 20/20 on Friday night and she’ll be talking to Diane Sawyer as well.
Well, this should be interesting. This move is not only great publicity in the last quarter for music this year and her new disc (her new album Rated R is coming out the same day as Shakira’s, Adam Lambert’s, Lady Gaga’s and Susan Boyle’s!), especially because her new single “Russian Roulette” is on iTunes starting tomorrow, but it will also impact Chris Brown’s CD release in December.
(“Wait Your Turn”, the alleged second single off the new album should help “RR” be another huge hit, considering it will be premiering tomorrow on the radio.)
Graffiti is set to be released on December 15th. The lead single “I Can Transform Ya” has already peaked t #24. Brown is also set to start a fan-appreciation tour.
Nothing can be said until the interviews air, but it should be interesting to see if Riri’s camp will turn her into a soft victim a-la Houston, or simply play on with Rihanna’s strong-woman persona.
They may say it has nothing to do with it (Brown's new music), but good/bad publicity sells CDs in this economy.
