In early March, Audrina Patridge announced that she'd be leaving The Hills for her own reality show
produced by Marc Burnett.
At the time, the new project was being shopped around to different networks. Now, it's official. Entertainment Weekly reports that Audrina will definitely be leaving The Hills for sure so MTV can pick up her new reality series tentatively titled The Audrina Show. Audrina's new series is said to be more real focusing on her professional and personal life outside The Hills. It is also said that Audrina will shoot her new show outside of Hollywood Hills and move to another location. As Audrina finally gets a chance to be a headliner rather than Lauren's sidekick, fans and critics question whether she can have the same draw and the same appeal without the help of Lauren Conrad, let alone The Hills. When Audrina first started being roommates with Lauren Conrad, Audrina's profile soared as The Hills were getting uber-popular amiss the sex-tape scandal Spencer Pratt said to have created in season 3. Many of Audrina's new found fans felt that she herself should have a show of her own, quickly clipping on the heels of Lauren's shoes. But as 2008 rolled around, Audrina's behavior changed as she hung out with Heidi Montag on-camera, and started to alienate Lauren Conrad, and/or vice versa. Audrina's change of friends and attitude didn't go unnoticed. As the year went by, nude photos surfaced of Audrina, and Audrina also desired to have an acting career. And Audrina's validity came into question even more when she accused her former roommate and former BFF Lauren Conrad of hooking up with her so-called boyfriend at the time, Justin-Bobby, after she moved out of Lauren and Lo's house. In spite of all the good and bad, Audrina did manage to improve her rankings in the Maxim Hot 100, which may tell MTV that there is hope for Audrina Patridge after all. For Audrina, this certainly is a risk, if not a true test to her popularity, more so. The only way we will know if Audrina can hold it together like Lauren Conrad has over the last six years is to wait and see.
