Take a break from the yard or garden this week and check out one of these great literary events happening around the Seattle Metro area.  As usual, there is an abundance of signings and lectures to choose from.  It's a good time to stock up on some beach reads in preparation for Memorial Day weekend, especially Jen Lancaster's hilarious new book Pretty in Plaid.  Happy Reading!

Bainbridge Performing Arts Center:  Dramatic readings by local actors of excerpts by Bainbridge Island authors like Mary Guterson, Jonathon Evison, Carol Cassella, and Anthony Flacca at 7:30 p.m. (free).
