Fort Hood shooting victims received a visit from former president George Bush last night, Fox News reports. Former First Lady Laura Bush accompanied president Bush as they spent between 1-2 hours visiting the victims of the Fort Hood shooting and their families. Former president George Bush and Laura live approximately 30 miles from Fort Hood. They desired to show their support to the wounded while keeping their visit out of the media spotlight.
Last night the toll of the wounded had been increased to 38. There were 13 fatalities as Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan went on a shooting massacre on November 5, 2009. Hasan is listed in critical but stable condition. He was flown to San Antonio last night.
The Bushes stated that they wanted to lend their support for the wounded and thanked the staff at Fort Hood’s military hospital for the amazing level of care in which they’ve provided the troops.
President Obama visited wounded soldiers at Walter Reed on Friday and will attend the memorial service for the fallen soldiers on Tuesday.
