It's Wednesday, and you're sick of the week.  The weekend should have started already.  So let's start it.

Grab a quick bite to eat (Capitol Hill bars almost all have food and after-work happy hours), get your friends together, and go to the Eighteenth Street Lounge, widely known as DC's coolest hotspot.  Wednesday night at ESL is Reggae night, with weekly shows by See-I, who offers a unique kind of reggae that you have to hear to believe.  Grab a couch and a drink, and you can unwind to some great music with your friends.

Insider Tip: Unless you are a group of hot girls, go early (opens at 5:30 Tuesday - Friday) to save yourself a cover (which they usually start asking for around 9:30).  Also, they have a dresss code, so no ballcaps or sneakers.
