You read that right! In celebration of Fair Trade month, the brilliant people at Divine Chocolate will be giving away samples of their Fair Trade chocolate to BART passengers. They’ll be handing out their tasty treats at four BART stations, Ashby, Rockridge, Montgomery St., and 24th Street Mission from 5pm to 7pm.

You’re also invited to attend a Fair Trade Gala at Samovar (Yerba Buena Gardens location), also on Thursday, from 7pm to 9pm. This event is $10 and you’ll have the opportunity to meet a number of Fair Trade companies who will be offering samples of their divine delights. If you haven’t been to Samovar, you’re missing out. This is an amazing tea house committed to Fair Trade and traditional brewing. If you can make this event, I’m sure it’s going to be great.

A little more about Divine Chocolate. I cannot speak to the taste first hand, as I have yet to try these (we’ll fix that on Thursday). But I can tell you that this company is owned by the 45,000 cocoa farmers who grow the cocoa for their chocolate. Now that’s Fair Trade at it’s finest!

And one last thing, Divine Chocolate is holding a contest. Check it out and you could win a year supply of chocolate.
