Did you know Sarah Palin, who just announced her plans to resign, is an Amy Grant fan?
Catching everyone off guard right before the July 4 holiday weekend, Gov. Sarah Palin announced today her plans to resign as the governor of Alaska. She did not give any reasons at the news conference held this morning at her home in Wasilla, Alaska. Gov. Palin announced that she was stepping down, and Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell would be inaugurated at the Governor's Picnic at Pioneer Park in Fairbanks, Alaska, on Saturday, July 25. (See Gov. Sarah Palin to Resign as Alaska Governor).
As reported in Your weekend workout: the Sarah Palin run, Pallin is a bit of a gospel music fan. "I kick off my runs with the old Van Halen and AC/DC, then I get into my country music, then I always wrap it up with a couple of mellow Amy Grant songs."
Palin, is known as a person with deep religious convictions who once described herself in an interview as a "Bible-believing Christian." Gov. Palin was born into a Roman Catholic family and later joined the Wasilla Bible Church, an independent congregation, because of the children's ministries offered there. It is no suprise to learn she enjoys gospel music.
When it was revealed that Gov. Palin's teenage daughter Bristol was pregnant, much of the media used that information as proof positive Palin's traditional family values were of no worth. It is not known at this time whether the constant negative media attention influenced Palin's decision to resign or if she is preparing for a presidential run.
