The Winner of the 2008 PBR Art Contest.
“Johnny Pabst and the Blue Ribbon Two”
by Alex Doucette of Dover, New Hampshire.

About 100 years after our country’s rebellious little founders told Britain to eff off, Captain Frederick Pabst began tying little blue silk ribbons around the necks his best lagers. Today you can find these red, white, and blue cans in every dingy dive bar or local flannel-filled house party, and probably even in that kid’s messenger bag that just whizzed by you on a fixie.

If Fosters is Australian for beer then Pabst Blue Ribbon is definitely Hipster for beer.

That’s all for our history lesson. You can get back to nursing your post Independence Day hang over now.

Happy Fifth of July.
