Dance for a good cause at the Let’s Have A Ball fundraiser hosted by Seton Medical Center and Seton Coastside charity care for the underserved at Cheryl Burke Dance Studio at 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sat., June 20 in San Francisco.
The $100 admission includes a professional dance lesson, performances, appetizers, wine, desert and, for a small donation, a chance to dance with a professional. A $20 raffle ticket can garner the winner a VIP visit to the Dancing with the Stars ABC television show in the fall.
Proceeds from the benefit help provide care for low income patients who cannot afford to pay for health services including emergency, outpatient, surgery and primary care.
The fundraiser is the brain child of Sherri Burke, who was a nurse at Seton Medical Coastside in Moss Beach when she hosted the Let’s Have A Ball in 2007 at her Atherton home.
Her daughter, Cheryl Burke, two time winner of Dancing with the Stars, is a featured performer at the fundraiser.
Cheryl Sinclair, who won the 2008 raffle, is heading back this year with hopes of getting another chance to win. "My favorite TV Show is Dancing With the Stars, and somehow I had a funny feeling that I was going to win the raffle,” said the Pacifica resident. “Last year when I went to the show, I had a smile on my face the whole time. I got to meet the stars and dancers after wards. I felt like Cinderella."
