At only 26, Anne Pressly's career was on the rise as a popular news anchor in Little Rock, Arkansas. She had even landed a small role in Olver Stone's recent film "W.," in which she played a commentator.
In the early morning of October 20, 2008, Anne was found brutally beaten in her bed after her mother failed to reach her on the telephone. Her mother had a habit of calling Anne each morning to ensure she was awake for her early morning reports. When she failed to reach Anne for her wake-up call, she went to Anne's home and found her daughter unresponsive from her injuries.

Anne's left hand was broken, her face was crushed, and she had been raped. Anne's purse and laptop computer were taken as well. Just five days after the attack Anne died of her injuries from the horrific beating.

Curtis Lavelle Vance has been arrested for Anne's murder and tied to the crime by DNA, which also ties Vance to a rape that occurred in April 2008 in Marianna, Arkansas.
