As of Thursday, Casey Anthony had $486 in her jail commissary account due largely to donations from strangers who have sent money orders to the jail. Her father, George Anthony has also contributed money to her account.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Casey uses the money to buy food and other items from the jail’s commissary. On Thursday, she spent $29 on tortilla chips, cocoa, strawberry pop tarts, bottled water, M&M peanuts, and a ponytail holder.
Casey is charged with the first-degree murder of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony, whose remains were found Dec. 11 near the Anthony family home. Casey’s trial is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 12.
