On Friday, Melissa Huckaby appeared in court, but failed to enter a plea. She is charged with the abduction, rape, and murder of 8-year-old Sandra Cantu.
Judge Linda Loftus also ruled to seal the results of Sandra’s autopsy and toxicology tests.
Huckaby’s attorney, Sam Behar, withdrew a prior request to exhume the body of Sandra for a second autopsy.
The defense determined the medical examiner had preserved sufficient tissue samples for additional testing.
Behar requested more time to review the evidence in the case prior to entering a plea, so Huckaby’s arraignment was postponed until May 22.
