On Monday, while driving on State Road 20, Crystal Sheffield, mother of missing 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings suffered a seizure and hit the rear bumper of the car in front of her.
Sheffield’s 11-month-old daughter was in the vehicle with her, but was strapped into a car seat and according to medical personnel suffered no injuries.
Sheffield’s family said this is only the second seizure she has had and she experienced the first one just two days before Haleigh went missing.
Ironically, Sheffield’s father was driving along the same road and saw her vehicle on the side of the road with a crowd of people surrounding it. He stopped and ran up to the vehicle and saw his daughter in the middle of a seizure.
Both Sheffield and her daughter were examined at the Putnam Community Medical Center and are expected to be fine.
In the meantime, Haleigh is still missing. She has blond hair and brown eyes and is 3 feet tall. Please call the Putnam County Sheriff's Office at 386-329-0800 if you have any information regarding Haleigh Cummings. The reward for information is now over $37,000.
