On Thursday, George and Cindy Anthony were scheduled to give their deposition in a civil defamation suit filed against Casey Anthony by Zenaida Gonzalez.

This has been delayed after Anthony family attorney, Brad Conway filed an emergency motion earlier this week claiming his clients are not psychologically strong enough to handle the proceedings.

Casey Anthony alleges that on or about June 9, 2008, she dropped her daughter, Caylee Anthony off at Zenaida Gonzalez’s residence at the Sawgrass Apartments, a babysitter Anthony claimed to have used frequently.  Anthony claims Gonzalez kidnapped Caylee, whose remains were found Dec. 11.

The only Zenaida Gonzalez having any sort of contact with the Sawgrass Apartments was extensively questioned by law enforcement.  Gonzalez had been to the complex and filled out a contact card while looking for an apartment.

This has caused some to speculate that Anthony may have garnered Gonzalez’ name from the guest card she filled out or overheard Gonzalez’s name during a visit to the apartment complex.

Authorities cleared Gonzalez of any wrongdoing and after viewing photographs of Gonzalez, Anthony claimed the woman found was not the same woman with whom she left Caylee.  Anthony proclaims there are several women with the name of Zenaida Gonzalez and authorities are not following up on leads she provided.

In the meantime, Gonzalez claims the negative publicity she received due to this case has resulted in her losing jobs and being unable to gain new employment.

The attorney for the Anthony family, Conway, claims the Anthony’s are not ready to handle the media that may be present during their deposition.

Judge Jose Rodriguez has allowed the media 20 days to explain why they should be present at the Anthony’s deposition.  He has also asked for documents to prove the Anthony’s have sought psychological counseling.

Anthony has been charged with the first-degree murder of 2-year-old Caylee and her trial for the crime is likely to occur sometime in the fall of 2009.
