Unauthorized release of graphic photo of a battered Rihanna

TMZ obtained a shocking police photo that it claims is Rihanna, 20, after Chris Brown, 19, beat her.
Brown was arrested Feb. 8 after a physical altercation with his superstar girlfriend, Rihanna, who suffered two large contusions on her face, a bloody nose and a split lip. There were also reports that she had bite marks on her body. Rihanna told authorities that Brown threatened to kill her and choked her until she lost consciousness.
The Los Angeles Police Department released a statement Thursday indicating the unauthorized release of the photo has generated an immediate internal investigation. According to the statement, “The photograph has the appearance of one taken during an official Domestic Violence investigation.”
