The American Idol 2009 tour kicks off tonight in Portland and will make a stop in DC on August 4th at the Verizon Center.  If you are on the fence about purchasing tickets or if you are overly excited for the show check out the setlist below for song spoilers.

MJ's Big Blog is one of the most complete and comprehensive resources on everything American Idol.  MJ posted this year's setlist as performed during the dress rehearsal.  Since the tour is a well oiled choreographed machine, the same setlist should apply to the Verizon Center show.

* Michael Sarver: “I’m in Love with a Girl” by Gavin Degraw, “Closer” by Ne-Yo.
Reaction: Ne-Yo is quite talented and his career will survive this bump in the road.

* Megan Joy: “Put Your Records On” by Corrine Baily Rae and “Tears Dry on Their Own” by Amy Winehouse.
Reaction: She will do well with these songs but we really want to hear her CAW-CAW.

* Scott MacIntyre: “Bend and Break” by Keane and “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton.
Reaction: Great picks Scott! Ryan, give Scott a high-five for me!

* Lil Rounds: “Be Without You” by Mary J Blige, "No One" by Alicia Keys, “Single Ladies” by Beyoncé.
Reaction: Lil please do the dance.   Better yet, Danny likes to dance, bring him out and put him in a black leotard and stilettos.

* Anoop Desai:”Always on My Mind” by Willie Nelson, “Mad” by Ne-Yo, “My Prerogative” by Bobby Brown.
Reaction: Anoop Dogg has a great voice but reminds me of that creepy guy at the club.

* Matt Giraud: “Hard to Handle” by the Black Crowes, “Georgia” Ray Charles, “I Found You” by the Fray.
Reaction: Can not wait to see what he does with "Hard to Handle." It has to be better than Constantine's version.

* Group Medley (Top 10-5): featuring Matt Giraud and Scott MacIntyre on dueling pianos.

* Allison Iraheta: “So What” by Pink “Cry Baby” by Janis Joplin, “Barracuda” by Heart.
Reaction: "Cry Baby"  will definitely be a highlight of the evening.

* Danny Gokey: “P.Y.T.” by Michael Jackson, “Maria Maria” by Santana, “What Hurts the Most” by Rascal Flatts, “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts.
Reaction: Four songs is a bit much for a bathroom break.

* Adam Lambert: “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zepplin “Starlight” by Muse, “Mad World” by Tears for Fears/Gary Jules, “Slow Ride” by Foghat w/ Allison, Bowie Medley: “Life on Mars”, “Fame”, “Let’s Dance.”
Reaction: Extra EMT's should be on hand since fainting will ensue.

* Kris Allen: “Heartless” by Kanye West, “No Boundaries”, “Bright Lights” by Matchbox 20, “Ain’t No Sunshine” by Bill Withers and “Hey Jude” by The Beatles.
Reaction: The Idol execs are "Heartless" for making Kris perform "No Boundaries." At least he will not have to do the awkward "Renegade" duet again.

* “Don’t Stop Believing” The Top 10 - Encore

The Idols often have public meet and greets outside of the venue so avoid the metro crush after the show and you might get a chance to meet your Idol crush.

If you are still undecided about going, or if you simply can not get enough of Kris and company, you can catch a live cell phone broadcast of the concert on Blog TV by reality TV blogger Rickey.  Rickey's readers call him from different stops along the tour and he broadcasts the "cellcast" for fans over his Blog TV channel.  Hundreds of Idol fans from all over the world log in to listen each night and chat about the performances in real time.  Rickey is a charming host who keeps fans entertained throughout the cellcast with his singing and quirky dancing.

Update: There are over 3,000 people watching Rickey's cellcast right now.
