Free online classes taught on almost every subject
Free online classes are taught on almost every subject. Online classes are an excellent way to learn a whole new topic. Most online classes allow you to work at your own pace, power through in a few days, or take a month or two to complete a course. There are a variety of ways to learn in an online class: reading a lecture, video, discussion boards, textbooks, CD-Rom, simulations, games, and chat rooms.
Most online classes at a university cost as much (or more) as a class taken in a classroom. Many universities and colleges offer a few free classes to currently enrolled students, and some universities offer a few classes free to anyone. The free classes do not include college credit, but the knowledge gained is usually for personal reasons anyway, and you could add them to your resume as completed.
In eight hours, you could complete a course on earthquakes from The Open University. There is a video course on food safety, storage and allergies from Utah State University, as well as a course on writing HTML code. There is also an Introduction to Psychology course taught by a Yale University instructor. UC Irvine offers a course on how to completely manage a spa. All of these classes are offered for free.
