Are you on a tight budget and trying to figure out some inexpensive ways to scrapbook your Fourth of July memories?  Here are some fun ways to preserve those memories and keep your costs low:

1.  Take lots of pictures: Use your best picture as the main picture on the page and then create an index print of all your pictures from the event.  Then cut up the smaller index pictures and use those to decorate your page.

2.  Save your fireworks labels: First of all, please don't save any unused fireworks and it is best to use the labels and not anything that might still contain a flamable agent.  However, many fireworks come in some elaborate wrappings and labeling and would be a great way to decorate your page.

3.  Flags from events:  Many companies and organizations hand out small hand-held flags at events for the Fourth.  You can use these to help create your page.

4.  Flyers/Brochures:  Did you attend an large event that was advertised?  Why not incluse copies of the advertising or the actual flyers for the event.

5.  Neighborhood Newletters/Community Newpapers:  Look at some of the write ups in the local newsletters and newspapers and include what was written up about the event.  Did you or someone in your family win a contest at the local celebration?  Include the article that might have been written about it.

6.  Journaling: Why not include your feelings about this event.  Tell how your family celebrated the holiday.  What does the holiday mean to you and your family?

7.  Online images:  Use your websearch engine and search for pictures you can print or download off the web.  Find a copy of the Declaration of Independence, pictures of the Founding Fathers and search for artwork specific to the Fourth of July theme.

Documenting your family's experience can be fun for the whole family.  Let each family member provide you with their favorite part of the holiday and then use that to create the page.  Whatever you do, make it yours by using what you have on hand.  Embellishments are great and they are helpful to pull your page together, but its the memories, the journaling and the pictures that really make the scrapbook special.
