The particulars are straight-forward: 447.8 acres, 4,241 square-foot ranch home and guest cottage, five bedrooms, five bathrooms total, one swimming hole, one creek, dripping springs, great view, vast open space. Price: $12 million. Owner: Lance Armstrong.

As reported by Examiner News.com, the House That Lance Built in the wondrous location of Dripping Springs, Texas, is for sale. The address is 560 Deadman's Hole.

The sale comes one year after Armstrong spent nearly $1 million in a nearby clean-up project on the property he once shared with former partner Sheryl Crow.

In 2005, Armstrong began building a small dam on a creek that runs across his property and feeds into Deadman's Hole. Neighbors vehemently claimed the dam construction caused sediment to run into the swimming hole.

Armstrong eventually agreed to arrange and pay for the clean up.

In a passage in "Every Second Counts," Armstrong's 2003 memoir, the cyclist said he bought the ranch because of his attraction to Dead Man's Hole. Jumping off the 45-foot waterfall that feeds the pool is his "own personal way of checking for vital signs.”

Armstrong recently said he’s building a new home where he and girlfriend Anna Hansen can raise their child expected in June.
