Holiday buying season is in full swing and the Nintendo Wii is, again, one hot item. With so many households containing a Wii and more and more casual gamers hitting the stores which games are worth a snuff? Without getting into genres here is a list of top games, fun games, licensced games that will be enjoyable this season. From music based game sto games based in a galaxy far, far away it’s time to take a look at games for the Wii this holiday season.

For the Family – Gather the family, these games are fun for all ages. Boom Blox and Wii Fit are the odd balls here offering fun, if not different gameplay while the other titles fall into music games category or Nintendo titles that are just fun from Brawl to Sluggers and Kart.

  • Boom Blox
  • Guitar Hero World Tour
  • Mario Kart Wii
  • Mario Super Sluggers
  • Rock Band 2
  • Samba de Amigo
  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl
  • Wii Fit
  • Wii Music

For the Kids – Fire them up and feel safe letting the kids play. Don’t let Death Jr. scare you, this is a fun platformer while de Blob offers simple, fun gameplay. LEGO is simple and addictive while Line Rider 2 offers some cereberal challenge, some … and Chocobo’s Dungeon is bright and vivid with a steeper learning curve.

  • de Blob
  • Death Jr. Root of Evil
  • Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon
  • LEGO Batman
  • LEGO Indiana Jones
  • Line Rider 2: Unbound
  • Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels

For the True Gamer – Games for gamers with pre-Wii experience, experienced gamers. World at War, No More Heroes, House of Dead and Tomb Raider, all a bit more mature if not rated so. The Forec Unleashed if a must for SW fans while Okami is a work of art. Symphonia offers the rare (good) Wii RPG.

  • Call of Duty: World at War
  • No More Heroes
  • Okami
  • Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
  • Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
  • The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return
  • Tomb Raider: Underworld

For the Anime Gamer – Covered in the Anime gamer holiday guide, these are for just that, the anime fan with a Wii. Naruto, One Piece, money … Castlevania has a solid art style, very anime-ish and fun.

  • Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution II
  • One Piece: Unlimited Adventure
  • Castlevania Judgment

There are more categories, ways to break this down, but these four sets should handle the bulk of anyones Wii buying task.
