I first worked with Lama Tsultrim Allione early last year when her book Feeding Your Demons had just been published.  She has been a Tibetian nun for decades, and she has founded the Tara Mandala Retreat Center in Colorado.  In early 2008, Allione was in Seattle teaching the demon feeding process, and the two-day event helped me clear many of my personal "demons."  Since then, I have used this valuable tool to continue clearing these personal obstacles, which I have found to be very real.

In this book and her live teaching Tsultrim Allione brings an eleventh-century Tibetan woman's practice to the West for the first time.  This is a very accessible and effective approach for dealing with negative emotions, fears, illness, and self-defeating patterns.  Lama Tsultrim joins this ancient Eastern practice with today's Western psyche, explaining that if we fight our demons they only grow stronger.  However, if we feed and nurture them, we can free ourselves from the battle.  Through the clearly articulated practice outlined in her book and teachings each of us can learn to overcome any obstacle and achieve freedom and inner peace.

Daniel Goleman, author of Emotional Intelligence said, “Feeding Your Demons offers an original and powerful approach to challenging the forces at work in the shadows of our psyche. Tsultrim Allione has done a masterful job of translating ancient—and fascinating—methods to heal modern emotional troubles.”

My personal "Demon Journal" has dozens of such obstacles, some of which have been taken through this process several times.  At the end of each session, I feel a new clarity and lightness as old antagonists become new allies.  If you belive that "demons" are haunting you and causing your life to be more challenging and less productive than you want it or if you believe that you don't have any such "demons," this book is for you.  In other words, much like Buddhist mind training, it works no matter what we believe.

May the wisdom and support in this book find you at the exact moment it is most beneficial to you.  And may this teacher appear to all the "right" people at the exact "perfect" moment.
