Tourists flock to DC for certain occasions; Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Inauguration… maybe the Lighting of the White House Christmas Tree. And now there is another reason to visit the Capital and mill about on the mall: to honor our Fathers. Not just another day or fireworks celebration to honor and respect our forefathers, this celebration is really about those who sacrifice and support and discipline us everyday!

The National Partnership for Community Leadership (NPCL), in conjunction with some 40+ fatherhood organizations nationwide is organizing a National Rally for Responsible Fatherhood on Behalf of America's Children on Saturday, June 20, 2009 by the Lincoln Memorial (10:00AM-2:30PM).

In honor of their centennial anniversary, NPCL plans to recognize Fathers’ unconditional love for children and family in a grander way than the traditional Father’s Day necktie or golf shirt. This year, rally organizers are amping up Dad’s Day.

Grammy Award winning and multi-platinum selling vocal group, All 4 One, will be on site singing their newly released single, "My Child" along with other musical entertainment. Congressman Danny K. Davis (IL-07), event chair; Award-winning broadcast journalist, Ed Gordon (founder of "Daddy's Promise"); and World Decathlon Champion and 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist Bryan Clay are set to speak and inspire. And NPCL is challenging ONE MILLION fathers (and father figures) to stand united and be a part of history by joining them at the rally prepared to take an oath of "commitment" and “responsibility” to their children and families.
