Yes, the pet world just gets stranger and stranger. No longer is it enough to put a bandana on your bulldog for Halloween – no he must dress link a lion complete with shaggy mane. Labs must don reindeer antlers come Christmas. And now, Chihuahuas and other alien canines apparently will sport alien antennae and other ET garb.
Roswell, New Mexico, home to an annual UFO Festival has added a canine constme show to the mix. Dogs from all over come to compete while showing off their extra-terrestrial fashion sense. Meatball, [pictured] a 13-week-old Chihuahua who won second place came to Roswell from Arvada, Colorado.
"He likes dressing up," his owner Kevin Morris told the Roswell Daily Record.
First place went to a team of dogs – uh, aliens, from the planet “Poop-a-lot:”
Smeg, Lil Man, Squishy and Binkys. The Ibarras, of Roswell went so far as to turn a baby carriage into a canine spacecraft.
The Roswell UFO Festival is an annual event with conferences, workshops, film screenings, a parade, a laser-light show and, of course, a human costume contest.
