Breakfast for $1.25

Did you know that you can still get breakfast for $1.25. I am not kidding you. At Mary's Good Time Cafe they have four breakfast specials at this price. They are served until 11.00 a.m. daily.

I remember 19 years ago, when this restaurant was a Bernie's, that they competed with us for the 99 cent breakfast people. Recently I went in for lunch, and couldn't believe the menu. Patrick, who owns the restaurant, with his wife Mary, came out to chat to me. I asked if the breakfast specials were just Monday through Friday, as many of the restaurants do this, and he told me that he has people that can only afford an inexpensive breakfast. That is why he serves them every day.

They consist of 1 egg, bacon, or 1 link and toast.

2 eggs and toast.

One large pancake.

Half order of biscuits and gravy.

The one pancake is really large, and as big as two, in some of the other restaurants. Hubby had the half order of biscuits and gravy, and enjoyed them. The gravy is old fashioned pan roasted, and Patrick puts lots of sausage into it. I got to try the gravy and I wanted more. Both the home fries, and the hash browns are made from scratch. I got to see the machine, that the potatoes go through, for the hash browns.

All the breakfasts are reasonably priced, like the 1 egg, potatoes, and toast for $1.69. The three egg omelettes start at just $3.20. Enjoy your coffee for 95 cents, or better still, if you are a big eater then they have an all day, everyday offer. 2 eggs, ham, bacon or sausage, home fries or hash browns, toast, with a small juice and coffee, for only $4.75.

There are so many reasonably priced breakfast menu items, that you will just have to visit Mary's Good Time Cafe, to check them out.

Open 6.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 7.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Saturday and Sundays.
