The rugged Tetons rise up and are reflected in the pristine waters of Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park. Waves drift to the shoreline from a shuttle boat giving visitors an effortless tour of the lake. Although there are many visitors to the lake, there are plenty of designated places to step off the trail to sit and enjoy the picture perfect beauty of the Tetons and the lake.

The Jenny Lake hiking trail loop is a stunning hike following the shoreline of the lake. The loop is 6.6 easy miles, gaining around 700 feet. The loop will take approximately 4 hours depending on speed of hiking and stopping to gaze at the beauty of the Tetons.

Although following the loop all the way around Jenny Lake provides for a beautiful day of hiking, some hikers may find adjoining trails irresistible.  At the north end of the lake, the hiking loop provides access to String Lake and Leigh Lake trailheads.  Each of these trails follows the lake shoreline and allows hikers a view of Mount Moran.  Continuing down the Leigh Lake trail, hikers gain access to several smaller mountain lakes.

The Jenny Lake loop is easily accessed off of the main park highway. Well placed signs are posted leading hikers to the Jenny Lake visitor center and to the trailhead of the loop.
